While at Cigna, he earned his M.B.A. in Finance and Statistics from the University of Chicago in 1990.

After a sabbatical to pursue interests including travel, culinary training, art, competitive sailboat racing, and skiing, he joined Marsh & McLennan’s marine department in Chicago in December 1995. He continued to race sailboats on Lake Michigan. In June 1998, Randy transferred to Marsh’s Los Angeles office as a Marine and Energy client advisor. He widened his horizons to include ocean sailing and hiking California’s coast and mountains.

Randy was a true Renaissance man, an expert in many areas and a master of every activity at which he wished to excel. He is survived by his former wife, Dr. Jennifer Faust, by his many, many friends, and by his cat, Ivan. He was known, loved, admired, and respected by his innumerable friends and colleagues as an honorable man.
